About me

I am a singer, performer and author. Over the years I have followed different paths in the world of performing arts and music. I work as an interpreter and create my own projects in the field of vocal performance.

My artistic project “LA MARIA” has two shows in its repertoire: “Maybe a concert” and “La Maria, o la espeluznante seducción de una canción de amor” (The creepy seduction of a love song), in which I explore, deconstruct and recompose the idea of the concert and the contents of my repertoire. I am currently working on an experimental research on the vocal body and its relationship with the ritual.

I am interested in the voice as an expression of the self, as evidence of the existence of a body and as an instrument of social cohesion and elaboration.

I currently participate as a performer-singer in the show “U. (un canto)” by Alessandro Sciarroni.

I collaborate with Sara Magon in two musical projects “TEXTURAS” and “CHAVELA, el lamento del volcán”.

La Maria

Maybe a concert

An extraordinary and tragicomic performative concert goes far beyond music, with a mariachi musician in stilettos, a glittering cowboy, futuristic cabaret outfits and a mixture of electro, jazz and pop. But behind the dazzling façade there lurk contradictions and hopes with which the performers ironically formulate a demand for autonomy of political, sentimental and artistic identity, wondering if this is possible in a context of constant compromise between violence and security, control and freedom.

La Maria

LA MARIA, o
La espeluznante seducción de una canción de amor

An atypical concert that ranges from ballads to noise music to reggaeton to folklore. An irreverent show in which LA MARIA (the performer's alter ego), explores and deconstructs the emotional architecture and cultural imagery contained in the lyrics and melodies of some love songs, Mexican folklore and other genres.
